RAMONA PHILLIPS-HALL

Ramona Phillips-Hall is a proud South Florida native and the visionary force behind Phillips Concessions, LLC. For over 13 years, she has led the company with purpose — growing national food and beverage brands while creating opportunities that uplift the communities she serves. Before entrepreneurship, Ramona built her foundation in public service with Miami-Dade County and The Beacon Council, where she gained a deep understanding of Miami’s people and potential. Guided by a lifelong belief that passion and perseverance lead to success, she took a leap into business ownership and never looked back. Mentored by industry leader H. J. Russell, Ramona’s journey from public servant to respected operator is rooted in faith, hard work, and heart. Today, she remains hands-on in every venture, driven by a simple mission: to open doors for others and turn opportunity into impact.

DOUGAL MYERS

(COO/CFO)

Dougal R. Myers joined Phillips Concessions officially in September of 2017.  Dougal has been consulting with Phillips since 2014 on various financial and analytical matters as it relates to the acquisition of financing and structuring the companies.

He has over 23 years of accounting and financial experience in food and beverage operations.  He joined Phillips after transitioning from his post of VP of Finance from Atlanta-based Concessions International and managed the portfolio of food and beverage operations of over 50 brands and 25 companies around the country.  His experience and knowledge are a great addition to Phillips and the engagement and rapport he has with the brand(s) financial teams and current partners enhances positive relationships, trust, and effective teamwork.

Dougal is responsible for all new business and financial development, and as well as providing consulting services to start-up food and beverage clients in Miami and Atlanta.

JOSEPH RYAN FUREY

Director of Tech Operations, Marketing, & Project Development

Since joining Phillips Concessions in 2021, Joseph Furey has been advancing the company’s operational capabilities, brand presence, and strategic growth. With over a decade of experience in the restaurant industry, and a career spanning management, brand development, marketing, and graphic design, Joseph brings a unique blend of technical expertise and creative vision to the leadership team.

As Director of IT, Marketing, and Project Development, Joseph oversees all technological infrastructure for the company’s locations, including POS system management, network administration, email platforms, and inventory software systems. He is responsible for implementing these solutions across new store openings, ensuring seamless integration with existing operations and adherence to the highest standards of efficiency, compliance, and performance.

Additionally, he manages all independent brand assets and is brand standards certified for Phillips Concessions’ licensed locations, including Starbucks, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and Chick-fil-A; ensuring every representation of these global brands meets their rigorous guidelines.

Beyond his technical and brand responsibilities, Joseph develops and executes marketing initiatives that strengthen customer engagement, drive revenue, and enhance the company’s market position. His ability to combine technology, creative strategy, and operational expertise allows Phillips Concessions to operate at peak performance while continuing to expand its footprint in the highly competitive concessions space.

M. SARAH WHITEMAN

Director of Financial Administration

Sarah brings over 18 years of experience in food and beverage operations to the Phillips Concessions team. She began her career at the iconic Krispy Kreme location on the corners of 6th and 163rd in North Miami, starting as a cashier and quickly advancing into management. During her tenure, Sarah developed strong financial and human resources expertise and became a certified New Ops Team Staff member. Over the course of her career, she successfully opened more than six new locations across South Florida and the Northeast and managed over 200 accounts and 135 employees.

At Phillips Concessions, Sarah also oversees Accounts Payable/Receivable and Human Resources, ensuring smooth operations across all company locations. She is a certified Einstein Bros. Trainer and a trained Licensed Venue Manager for Phillips’ Starbucks locations, bringing both operational expertise and brand compliance to her role. Sarah is heavily involved in new store openings, reporting directly to and working closely with the COO and CFO to ensure every launch meets the company’s high standards.

Sarah is responsible for the leadership, training, and support of Phillips Concessions’ 125 employees, playing a key role in maintaining the company’s operational excellence and strong workplace culture.

DEVELOPMENT & SUPPORTING TEAM

 

ZACH WETHINGTON

(Wethington & Associates)

Zach joined Phillips in 2014 after the successful re-branding of the Coffee Beanery at MIA to an Einstein Bros Bagel concept. Zach has over 19 years of experience as a licensed Architect and Project Manager.  Zach is in charge of all Construction and A/E for Phillips.  He drafts construction budgets and submits plans or permitting, coordinates bidding for each of Phillips projects and reviews all submittals with the Phillips team prior to them making a decision on award.  He coordinates with brand on design and implementation to ensure all design elements are met by brand and acts as a liaison from time to time with landlord on build-out-related issues.  He provides weekly reporting on all active construction and is the point of contact with GC.

Zach and Ramona began the preliminary groundwork when the idea to look into alternative non-airport markets became Ramona’s clear vision and path forward.  Zach was instrumental in working with Ramona on designs and schematics she used when pitching different brands to licensed venues and developers in and around Miami Dade County.
